
Ilana Fonariov is a self-taught potter living and working on Galiano Island, BC. A recipient of the Micki MacKenzie Bursary, she built on her self-taught knowledge by studying ceramics at the Selkirk School of Arts. There she learned how to work with natural materials like wood ash, granite and local clay.Her work balances structure and lightness, inspired by natural textures and autumnal tones.
